Balancing…

With a job having started up, I’m needing to find a new balance to find time for sewing. All day, every day isn’t possible anymore and boy do I miss it. I’m just going to have to get used to a slower pace of progress on things. Just have to bind this and it’s all [...]

Land & Sea Quilt, all finished!

I’ve decided to call it the Land & Sea Quilt because it’s got lots of things from land (flowers, birdies) and sea (mermaids and erm…giant squid!) in it. Couldn’t think of a better name, so I settled on that. It is BIG. 88″ x 100″. Queen sized for sure and the biggest quilt I’ve made. [...]

As one comes to an end, another begins!

So close to finished! Should post completed pics tomorrow… And on to the next! The steady stream of friends having babies continues… next up, a boy! Simple squares looking a bit messy on my design wall.

I’m excited about this one…

A quilting marathon later, all that’s left is the binding! This will be my very first patterned binding. I’m not sure why. Somehow I’ve just never done one before!

The next quilt top.

Just finished the next quilt top. It’s the only WIP I have going. I’ve come to realize that I’m not a quilter who gets loads of things going at once. For the most part I just make one quilt at a time, from start to finish. Am I weird? From reading other people’s blogs I [...]

A fun scrap challenge!

I signed up for the JC Handmade Spare a Square scrap challenge and made this fun little wall hanging! The idea is that we all sent in a square of fabric, they were cut up and we got back ten different scraps to make something (anything!) with. We could add anything we want, we just [...]

This and that…

After finishing the two pink and green baby quilts, I found myself with NO quilts going!! I was at a loss and a bit in shock… so I quickly fixed the problem by starting another one.  I’m about half way there on the blocks. They are super bold and colorful and I love them! I’m [...]

Pink & Green quilts for some twin baby girls!

I finished up the set for my friend who is expecting twin girls.  She told me that she’s doing her nursery in greens & tans, but I can’t resist pink!  I figured this way, they will match but add a fun pop of pink.  To my knowledge, my friend doesn’t know about my blog, so [...]

Lots of little stitches.

These are almost done – just need to bind number two! Meanwhile, I’ve discovered that I love to sit and embroider while I’m watching a little tv at night.  I feel useless when I’m not doing something with my hands, and there’s only so many bindings to stitch… plus, for some reason my past obsession [...]

A problem.

I have a fabric problem. I’m completely addicted. And you know the addiction runs very deep when you’re on a buying ban, and you still manage to get a fix! Exibit A: A good friend of mine was helping someone move who needed to get rid of two big garbage bags of fabric. Umm.. yes [...]
