A couple more blocks
Only had time to get a couple of blocks done this weekend. Spent most of the weekend shopping as working on a show like Project Runway will make you paranoid about your outfit!!
The blocks for the first month of the 12 Squared bee.
It was so much fun to work with these bright and vibrant colors.
On a different note – my job takes me to Seattle later this week and then I head to NYC. I know I want to hit up Purl Soho, but anyone have any other recommendations of fabric or other fun stores that I can’t miss out on while I’m in either city??

I love those Tina Givens bees, I have them in orange. Love the coriander, wallflower and other Tina Givens’ too!
While you are in Seattle you should go to Archie McPhee’s, http://www.mcphee.com/ and then a couple of blocks up the street go to Molly Moon’s http://www.mollymoonicecream.com/, for great ice cream. There isn’t a really good fabric store in Seattle right now, it’s mostly Joanns, but if you can get up to Northgate, Pacific Fabrics, http://www.pacificfabrics.com/, has good stuff.

If you stop by Purl and are hungry, you should eat at Bar Pitti, which is not to far from Purl on the Ave. of Americas. Really great, fresh Italian food!!!
I live in Seattle and I don’t think any of the fabric stores here are worth trekking to. We definitely don’t have anything that is up to the level of Purl Soho!
The blocks look great! I’d recommend The Quilting Loft in Seattle, Quiltworks Northwest in Bellevue, and if you make out to Bothell, Keepsake Cottage in Country Village (Country Village is fun all together, and worth the trip out).

Hey Alissa, I’m in Seattle right now too, I haven’t been to many quilt shops downtown, but here is a link to a good one. Its big and they carry alot, they have lots of stores. I think they’re discount warehouse is downtown. There is also a little quilt shop in Pikes Place Market. I’m not sure what its called but its on the left of the fish market (where they throw the fish
and its either on that level or the one under it. Anyone would know if you asked.

Great blocks, fun colors!! NYC recommendations… The city quilter and M & J Trims, a fabulous wonderful trim store. Gads of embellishments.
I used to shop for fabrics in NY a lot…..you could go to the garment district downtown….I’ll send you an email w/ some suggestions.

I agree… City Quilter and M&J trimming. If you get hungry, I totally recommend Once Upon a Tart which is next door or two to Purl (the yarn store). You will NOT be disappointed.
You just pull together the mosy unlikely of fabrics and it seems to work … every time.

Definitely hit up City Quilter-I was disappointed in Purl Patchwork when I headed over, plus it was a big trek. Mood is awesome, and Paron Fabrics is great too. Check out Paula Nadelstern’s website-for a fabric tour of NYC.
I would agree that Project Runway would make you re-evalate the wardrobe! What did you end up going with? Edgy? Classic?
