Actually got some sewing done!

Hope that you all had a lovely Thanksgiving!! How nice to have a long weekend in which I was able to get some real sewing done.

Baby girl quilt top

Got the top done and even managed to get it quilted!

Quilting Baby girl quilt top

I’m thinking a red binding because the dark red pops so much and framing it in that same color would balance it a bit. But would that make it too Christmas-y? That’s not the goal as it’s a baby girl quilt that will be given after the holidays… Hmm… Maybe pink is the way to go? What do you think?

I would definitely go red, it’ll just pop. Very lovely quilt for a very lucky little girl!

I think the red would frame this quilt and really make all the colors pop. Great job!

Those colors are amazing! A red binding would be great. Have you thought of doing a pieced binding?

It’s so pretty! I think the red would be fabulous.

Okay, I’m not following the consensus here – I say pink or pieced. It’s a wonderful quilt!

Very nice! I like that green print. As for the binding, go with your gut. It’s going to be lovely either way.

  8. Nancy Says:

Red is my favorite, but I vote for the pink since it is for a baby girl….

I also love the green, so maybe a pieced binding…

Lovely! I like the limited palette and simple patterns. Call me crazy, but I think I would go with the green print for the binding. (I know the Uptown is discontinued though . . .)

it’s fabulous! I’d vote for red binding. not too christmas-y at all.

  15. Sandy Says:

I personally would use the red and white dots! Or is that pink and white? Either way, I would use that one. It might even out the red a little, which I really like by the way!

  16. Tina Says:

What about a print that has pink and red together in it? Isn’t there a ‘farmers market’ print in those colors??

Just an idea…a red binding always looks sharp.

  18. Jane Weston Says:

Just beautiful…I would be tempted to bind in the pink so it’s kept girly rather than Christmasy…

  19. Libby Says:

So sweet for a baby girl! That quilt has a lot of impact. I don’t think it will be too Christmas-y no matter what you do, and almost anything would work for the binding: red, pink, green, pieced, or a print. So I say go with your gut.

    red binding for sure.
