The reason I went to Market in the first place is that Kristen and I were promoting Block Party.
We did a schoolhouse (which are these 30 minute presentations) to tell shop owners about the book.
We talked and talked (something that Kristen and I have no problems doing! ha!)…
and we showed all of the quilts that the Block Partiers made for the bee and book.
Jacquie and Rashida, who were both in the bee, were nice enough to help us out with the quilt holding!
Then the next day we had a super fun book signing!
From here, keep an eye out! We are organizing a blog tour and the book is going to be on shelves so soon!!
And if you’re interested, you can see all of my Market photos here!

yay! I missed the book at market so I’m totally excited to see the blog tour. And it was so fun to meet you two at market
Yay! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!
How fun! Congrats on the book, can’t wait to see it.
Oh my gosh, I’m SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO in love with that red/aqua circle quilt. Could I possibly put that photo on my blog to share with my readers if I properly link back and tell about the book? If not that’s ok, I’ll have to buy the book and make my own version!
Looks like you had a great time! Congratulations on what is sure to be a very successful book
Time to thank you. I started reading your blog about a year ago and as a traditional quilter, I hated the fabrics, hated the color and hated the patterns I saw there. Years ago, many years ago, I learned (thanks to Stevie Wonder) that when I am certain that I absolutely hate something that I had better sit back and take another look. Loved your blog so I have made sure to read and consider every entry and picture. Sure enough, after a while I started seeing what I couldn’t before — you opened my brain to new possibilities and colors — and I thank you for this new learning experience.
I love that grey and aqua quilt covering the table in the book-signing photo! Did you make it? Where can I see more photos of it?
Hey Alison! That quilt is in the book so there will be more photos in there!
So excited to meet you and have time to hang out after dinner! I will be in contact about the show.. smooches!
Have mine ordered already and cant wait to see inside it.
Awesome Alissa! Congratulations. I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy.
So excited!!
I got the book today at my LQS. I’m sitting in a comfy chair with a glass of wine, reading it right now. It’s great, and I love that it describes the improv techniques rather than patterns. It’s a lovely book, congratulations!
Oh, I see that it hasn’t officially been released yet. I bet my store has it early because the owner of the shop is the woman who started C & T publishing. If anyone is in the Bay Area, it’s the Cotton Patch in Lafayette. And it’s shop hop weekend, so the fabric is 20% off.
Congratulations girls. Looking forward to seeing the book n the shelves in my corner of Melbourne.
How fun and exciting!
I’m so looking forward to getting your book!
ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I’m so excited! I’ve been looking forward to this book for so long! What I would do to have my blog on that book tour:)
love the action shots. Our aussie trade show is nothing like yours over there! Can’t wait to get my hands on a copy:)

I just love what I’ve seen so far on this book. Cannot wait to get this one for sure. It definitely is a must have from the pictures you showed at Schoolhouse alone.
