There's all different sorts of fabrics in the quilt but mostly Konas. Taupe is the background color and there's different whites, ash, medium gray, coal, stone, black... that's all I can think of right now! I don't think I've ever used black in a quilt either... My sister did one that was entirely black and dark grey fabrics that turned out amazing. You actually see all the different "colours" of black.
