Overwhelmed.

I’m feeling crazy busy these days. A tad too busy, but when it’s all quilting all the time that’s keeping you that way, how can you complain??

A quick little class sample for an Improv. class that I’ll be teaching at Common Threads Studio in Pasadena.

And why am I currently so obsessed with the color combo of gray and raspberry?? I can’t get enough!

Improv. class.

I always laugh at the idea of teaching an improv. class. Here in LA where so many people are actors, that usually means some semi funny off the cuff sketch comedy. But not for me! For me it’s all about quilting!

Taught the class at The Urban Craft Center these past two Sundays and it was so much fun. Forgive the lousy Iphone photos.

I swear I’ve been actually getting some sewing done between the teaching/guild meetings/Block Party-ing and so on. But not that much! Hope to have some real time this week.

Fallish

Here in LA, we hardly feel fall show up. But the past few days have been so so wonderful. Sunny and cool (for LA) and it’s put me in a fall mood! After making the huge hexagon quilt I wanted to make a quick and fun little project so I put together this little stroller quilt. It’s small – 24″ x 36″.

It’s actually a sample for a new class that I’m going to be teaching Pasadena at The Common Thread Studio. It’s another beginners quilting class that will happen in November.

And now – back to work on the commissioned quilt! Should be able to show you the beginnings of things later this week!

Hey LA people! Are you on the west side of town? I’m also teaching classes in Santa Monica at the Urban Craft Center! If you haven’t been there before, it’s a great space!

I’m teaching the basic “how to quilt” class over a couple of weekends this month (9/19 & 9/26) and next (10/18 & 10/25), but I’m also really excited about the improvisational piecing class that I’m teaching there in November on the 8th & 15th!

I’m teaching a patchwork pillow class for Home Ec. at Reform School on June 22nd, this coming Monday evening. Maybe you’re interested? Check out more details or sign up here! A quick post to mention that I’m going to be teaching another class for Home Ec. at Reform School! It’s a one night class on how to make a patchwork pillow sleeve! First we’ll improvisationally piece a wonky log cabin block and then we’ll turn it into a pillow sleeve. All on the evening of Thursday May 28th.
