I’m so excited that Janome is sponsoring me with a Horizon Memory Craft 7700 machine.
Needless to say, I’m thrilled. I mean, let’s be honest here – I did a veeeery long happy dance when the UPS man pulled up with it.
I’ve been sewing on the same machine (my first machine) since I started quilting about three years ago. I can’t knock the lil’ lady because I’ve made over 50 quilts, large and small, on her. But for a long time now, I’ve known that my machine was holding me back, with quilting in particular. I have spent a bit of time with my new Horizon and let me tell you – it’s like a door opening. Everything just looks so much better. The stitches, the smoothness, it’s just clearly a quality machine. I am going to be a straight line quilting addict for a bit I think. It all just comes out so pretty and NOT shifty on this machine. I’m thrilled.
This machine is so much faster than my old one. I’m zipping through my tasks and getting things done so quickly! And the space! Just look at the space!
There is SO much room in the throat of the machine. Seriously – so. much. I’m in the middle of quilting a queen right now, and it’s not even a squeeze to get it through the machine.
And so far, in first place for “best feature I didn’t have but now do”: The Automatic Thread Cutter!
This upgrade has been a long time coming for me and let me tell you, it doesn’t disappoint! I am amazed at what a difference it makes to have the right tool.
Now you’ll have to excuse me – I’m going to go spend lot and lots of quality time with the new machine.

ooh, so jealous. She’s so pretty. My machine is currently waiting to be serviced again.
This one looks so snazzy. Enjoy!
OOOOOO!!! I love my Janome, it’s the DC3050.. but my mom has the 6600 and it is AWESOME, has that auto thread cutter, plus the sit in table, for quilting ease. love love love Janome! enjoy.
OH MY GOODNESS! Congratulations, I am soooo happy for you. Yipee!
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU!!!! I AM SO THRILLED FOR YOU!!!!!! I just did a happy dance INSIDE for you1!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!! You need to get your Hands free foot thing going, it is my favorite thing about my bernina lately…. you will be amazed at how much more efficient it is to use your knee to lift your foot. I’m SO happy for you!!!!
Wow! Enjoy Alissa! Merry Christmas.
Wow – wow! Merry Christmas – how exciting – I definitely need a bigger throat on my machine!

Ahhh! You got it! Congratulations, that’s so awesome. I’m jealous!
Oh wow, Alissa! You lucky devil! I’m six different greens with envy, but I can’t wait to hear all about it! That’s my dream machine!!
Yay! Congrats!
I absolutely love, love, love my Horizon and sew on it every single day. It’s an awesome machine!
Lucky, lucky! Isn’t that automatic thread cutter awesome! I have one on my Brother and could never go back.

Merry Christmas.
I have a Horizon and I looooooove it! Just yesterday my husband asked me if it was worth getting… Yes. Hell yes
Not only a new machine, but a SPONSORED one!!! Wowzers! Merry Christmas is right – congrats!
Awesome! Enjoy your new machine!
It is an amazing machine! I just got the 6600 in October and I LOVE it! I agree, that thread cutter is life changing! Plus the speed controls, the memory functions, so fun! Can’t wait to see what new stuff you will be working on! Merry Christmas!
I didn’t even know such a machine existed. From the specs, it’s AMAZING! I just wish there was somewhere online that you could look at prices…
Thanks everyone – I’m so so happy with the machine and 100% recommend it. And Rachel, You can find prices at Janome dealerships but the machine retails at $3000. You get A LOT of machine for the price!
I recently bought the exact same machine after some long deliberations and while I haven’t had the chance to do much sewing but what I did made me very happy. Everything seems to be so much easier with this machine and the Space is just wonderful.
Enjoy.
Droooooooooooooooooooolllllllllllll
WoW! It looks like to be a great machine. I am starting to think about a new machine.
And the angels sang the Hallelujah Chorus!
. You deserve to have a wonderful machine. It makes all the difference in theworld, doesn’t it? I’m so happy for you.
Thanks Alissa! I am on the look out for a new machine, will check out Janome.
Oooh! Lucky you! I’m so happy for you – what a beautiful machine. I’ve had my eye on that one for a while, so I can’t wait to see how you like it!
Freaking awesome!
oh man I’m turning green what a nice machine!
Wow, I’m so happy for you! I also just got a new machine (and had been sewing on a very basic machine for years) and have been thrilled with the difference. I agree about the automatic thread cutter – what did I ever do without it?? = )
Congratulations!!! I bought a Janome DC2010 less than a year ago for general sewing and I LOVE it. It took weeks of reading customer reviews to find exactly what I wanted, and now I am a huge Janome fan. But I love the colors on your machine even better. Mine has some sort of teal/aqua color that I am not crazy about. Is your machine also really quiet?
You are going to make me lose my mind! Must…resist…urge…to…buy.
Have fun!
Lucky you! Enjoy, it looks like a great machine.
OMG! Enjoy, looks like an exceptional machine. I have a Janome, just a basic one, from Sears, but I do love it, it has served me well. When I finish some of my old projects I hope to find one of those maybe under the tree one year. Congrats Again!!!
O M G
Some kinda wonderful there! You lucky, lucky girl. Huge congratulations xx
Now that’s a real sponsorship. Well done!
Hey Alissa,
I am so pleased you LOVE your new machine! It was great to meet you last week and I am so happy your machine seems to be everything you wished for! You must have been a very good girl this year!
Congratulations on the new addition to your family! I’ve been sewing on the same small machine for years now too. She’s a workhorse, but boy the space you have with that Janome is lookin mighty nice.
As a long time Janome owner – I know you will love this machine. It just keeps getting better:)
Congratulations and use it in good health in the New Year.
ooooh, i’d be doing a happy dance too! i have an automatic thread cutter on my machine, and let me tell you, i DO love it. so glad i have it. thanks for sharing, looks like fun!
How in the world do you get sponsored with a machine like that??? I would love to know how to do that. I am sewing on an older Bernina and I do love my machine but I love all that space that you have on the Janome. Perhaps in my next life……
You said you were getting a new machine, but I did not picture a throat quite so roomy. What a perfect time for you to get a new machine. Happy sewing and merry x-mas!
Santa was very, very good to you this year! I’m so jealous! Can’t wait to hear more about this beautiful machine! If I had a sewing machine like that I don’t think I would ever leave my chair
Congratulations on the new machine! I have serious throat envy!
I understand how you feel about your old machine – my old Kenmore has been a trooper for over 28 years, but I’d so love some bells and whistles
Congrats to a beautiful workhorse !! I have one, too – and I just LOVE that machine! So much, that a non-quilty friend asked (imagine a slight hint of edgniness in her voice) whether I have an erotical relationship with my sewing machine Of course, I have not – but what this machine can do and how it does the jobs is AMAZING. have fun !!
It’s gorgeous!!! What kind of machine did you use before?
I have a Horizon too, and I love it! Before “Betty”, I had 2 Berninas. I’m really glad I made the switch, now I just wish I had more time to sew! When I first bought my machine I was in a rush to finish Christmas gifts, and now I’ve been sick for the last few weeks.
So far I love everything that I’ve done on it, though! And I can’t wait to quilt a large quilt!
