Like coming home to a huge box of batting.
Oh batting! You have such potential…
Or actually having a little something going on on the design wall…
Progress on blocks for one of the bees I’m in.
On a completely different topic…. A couple of you have mentioned Project Runway so I thought I would clarify. This season that’s about to start airing on the 20th is not the one that I cast. Season 6 got all caught up in a legal battle when the show switched to Lifetime and now it’s finally airing. It’s gonna be the same great show so please do watch! And then… watch again next season when you’ll see all of my hard work!

Alissa, I love so many of your projects and have really been enjoying your blog.
Can you tell me where someone can get started in Bees/Swaps? Where does one find open ones?
I love this block! I’ve been wanting to do some just like it, it reminds me of a print from Anna Maria Horner’s Drawing Room line!
Love the colours too, nice and fresh – like a box of organic veggies! The little things really do make your day, I felt the same when I came home and found a bundle of brightly coloured pom-pom trim waiting for me. Oh the possibilities!!
I love those big rolls of batting too! I use it ALL up! amazing we can do that…HUH?
Love that big box! I would love to have one but don’t have a spot to store it
I was wondering why PR was on Lifetime . . . and I was going to be looking for your name in the credits, but next time instead!
Hope you are having a great day!!
Thanks for telling us – I will still watch – can’t believe they replaced it on Bravo with (in my opinion) an inferior show – The Fashion Show – ughh!
Love the quilting bee block!
Yay for starting new projects! Can’t wait to see what you come up with!
A box of batting? What a treat!
now that’s a package! so much potential in there! i can’t wait for pr to start, but i’m REALLY looking forward to your show. hope work’s going well. glad you’ve had some time to sew.
Wow that box of batting is to die for! Looks like bamboo/cotton? Where in the world do you order it from???
And that block on your design wall is fabulous! I need to make room for a design wall somewhere…. I need a bigger house
Hi Cristin!
It’s 100% cotton, Warm & Natural. I ordered it from Joann.com. There was a $5 shipping sale and I used the 40% off coupon so it definitely works out to cheaper… I’m so excited about all of the quilts I’m gonna make with it!
OMG..That is alot of Batting…So Much Fun…Can’t wait to see your next project. I love your Blog!!!!
That is a huge box o’batting! WOW! I wonder how long it will take you to use it all?
Blog when you feel like it…we’re not going anywhere!
Oh, I love the colors. And it’s always fun to get a bolt of something you’ll use for sewing!
love the quilt block! My husband gives me a hard time about my roll of batting telling me i can quilt 2 football fields with the amount of batting i have, but i love the look of it all rolled up!
love the batting photo! But I love the design wall even more. I’ve been wanting to make one of those balanced block type of quilts myself. I really like how you’ve mixed the solids and basics with more detailed prints.
I’m planning to buy my own batting by the bolt but it needs to be delayed until I can get my financial status in order.
I think I missed something. What is that about Project Runway? I faithfully watched that show (before the legal stuff and moving from one channel to another) and have been counting down the days to starting another season. I love the other shows, like Tori and Dean, when you get to see some of the past year’s people actually designing for celebrities…seeing them doing what they dreamed of in real life is awesome. Clue me in. I can’t believe I would miss something big like that!
Thanks,
Becky

did you order the batting after i told you i did?.. i can’t remember if i told you.. but for real it was the best thing i did. got one a few years back and finished it early this year and i’m on to box #2!
i buy batting by the roll, too. i always ask for a new box from the back. and then i make wise cracks before the sales people can.
LOVE LOVE LOVE that block up on your design wall.
I was going to ask where you got that too! Off to the JoAnns site!
I love what you are starting to work on your quilt wall…it’s looking very FUN! All that batting…it makes me want to jump on it like a pile of fresh raked leaves!
Ohhhhhhh, I want a big box of Warm & White! Wondering if JoAnn’s sells that online. I don’t seem to get their online/email coupons anymore. I would LOVE $5 or FREE SHIPPING for something like that!!! I live about 1.5 hours away from a JoAnn’s (and the closest source for Warm & White) so having it on hand in my sewing room would be IDEAL!
