Today is my stop on the Little Bits Quilting Bee blog tour!
First off, this might seem odd, but I have to just comment on the actual physical feel of this book. It’s hardcover and has a pocket on the inside holding all of the templates you need for the included patterns. it’s just a solid, pretty book. Rare to come across a hardcover quilting book like this and I have to say, I really like it.
The focus of the book is patterns to use precuts with. Now if you read my blog and keep up with my quilting, you’ll know that I simply never use precuts. That said, any and all of these patterns can be used with your stash – either yardage or scraps!
There’s also 20 pattern in the book – a lot! There’s definitely something for everyone considering just how many patterns are included.
The book also contains loads of important info – all you need to know to make a quilt and so many resources and references as well. Along with being super informative, if I had to use one adjective for the book, it would be cozy. There’s just something about the photography and the great hand drawn illustrations that make reading the book a comfy way to spend some time!
Do you want to win a copy? Chronicle Books have been nice enough to donate one! Just leave a comment here and I’ll pick a winner on Thursday. U.S. shipping only (sorry!).
And follow along with the rest of the tour:
Tuesday, November 15 – West Coast Crafty & Foxy Art Studio
Wednesday, November 16 – Patch Andi
Thursday, November 17 – In Color Order
Friday, November 18 – Kristin La Flamme & Camp Follower Bags & Quilts
Monday, November 21 – Quilt Dad
Tuesday, November 22 – Pat Sloan & Pleasant Home

That Constructivist quilt looks awesome! Beautiful and useful book? I’m in!
Looks great! Gotta love a pretty book filled with quilt-y goodness
I don’t like precuts either. They lack the fun that comes from mixing up and trying out prints and colors from one’s own ideas. This book looks great! I haven’t seen it before. Thanks very much for the chance to win.
There is just something about the feel of a well-made, hardcover book that I have had a passion for since I learned to read as a child.
Looks like some great ideas for using “little bits” of fabric collections I fall in love with!
I love that version of the log cabin quilt – and I’d love to win a copy, of course! Thanks for the chance!

Is it that fabric is just so much more expensive in England?? I find precuts can be the only way to enjoy a full range of fabric, at least that way you get a bit of everything!
I don’t use precuts but the pattens look great! I’d love to win. Thanks for the chance….

I never use precuts either. They really aren’t saving you money unless you never wanted to have any scraps. That said, this book looks so great that it would totally be worth “translating” the patterns for my yardage stash.
Great book. Thanks for the giveaway. You have such cool stuff.
I am absolutely loving all the quilts from this book! I made my first two mini quilts as Christmas gifts this year, thanks for the chance to win!
I do use pre-cuts, not that I don’t have any yardage! This book looks fabulous and would love to win a copy for my library. Thanks for the giveaway.

Looks like an amazing book! I don’t know what is going on in the modern quilting world and the publishers right now but there are like a million books that are coming out that I’d just LOVE to own! Hard to resist! If I dont’ win this one, I’m off to Amazon because I have a Kona Solids Pastel Rainbow Jelly Roll and nothing to make with it yet… I know it will be for a baby – I just don’t know what the quilt will look like yet and this might be the perfect book to put it to work! Thanks!!

Oh, yes, I would love to win this book! I really do need to put some scraps to good use. Thanks for the chance.
Everywhere I go I pick up Fat Quarters. It’s a challenge to see if I get colors/patterns that will work together. And the individual fabrics remind me of my travels. Love to have a book that enables my collection.
