I’ve been getting lots of sewing details out of the way recently.
I made a cute sample quilt for my class later this month.
It’s little – 24″ x 36″ and makes me realize I need to branch out in my quilting more. I love the texture all these straight lines give it.
Also stitching up labels… I like that these fill my TV time along with binding stitching.
And bees! I’m all caught up on all of my bees! Just need to pop all of these into the mail…
Now I need to dive back into a this quilt…

Wow! All that looked like lots of fun. I absolutely love your labels. I think I probably need to start putting some on my quilts before I give them away. That would really help them remember where the quilt came from. Love your little one at the beginning. the color combo is really neat!
Oh, I love that little rabbit fabric in the sampler quilt. Love it.
Wow, this must be some form of hysteria. I love the colours you use!!! The green is a must-have-at-once!
I love the quilt and the quilting is absolutely beautiful! Lovely labels!
I need to try that straight line quilting sometime… preferably on something small! Your little quilt is so cute. I like the colors red/aqua together.
love this little baby…some of my very fav fabrics in there. you are a whiz combining fabrics. don’t you just love that quilting…you’re so right the texture is great!
Could you just stop being so talented?
Its not fair for us mere mortals.
Andi
wow. sew connected 2 is a bold set of colours this month! It stands out quite a bit from the quilt blocks we normally see. I like what you’ve done with both of them. What was the theme or inspiration on those blocks?
The coin samplers is great too. I’m sure your students will love it. It gives me yet another idea to consider for quilting mine. Decisions, decisions!
Amy
I LOVE your labels – so cute!! And all the blocks look amazing!I love the straight-line quilting too….it’s looks great!
Oh my the sample quilt is adorable! The tags are super cute….and the Joel Dewberry piecing…So beautiful…so talented!!
looks like you are gettin lots done! i am so tempted to do the straight line quilting.. it looks sooo nice!
those blocks are great and i want to do a quilt with straight stiching! great idea!
Love your little labels. Too cute!
¡¡¡lovely like always!!!! i love that labels!!!
You are so talented….i’m with you on the tv/sew binding thing….feels like your brain isn’t so mushy huh? just a question on the straight lines….do you use your free motion foot, or a regular, and are you picky about your spacing, or more free about it?????
thanks
Thank you Raven! You are so nice! For the straight line quilting I use my walking foot and I used the edge of it to guide my lines but I’m very “loose” with it and don’t stress when the lines get a bit wonky. In fact – I prefer it!
I love the coin sampler! And especially your labels!!!! What a great idea! What do you use for those? They look thicker, like canvas ducking. So cute!!
Thanks Jennifer! The labels are stitched on the usual Kona cotton that I use in my quilts. I then hem them before stitching them on the backs of my quilts.
yay for branching out!!! i love the line quilting.
I love the straight line quilting too. I plan to do that on my next quilt. Do you start at the edge or in the middle?
Thanks Martha! I start in the middle, work my way to the right edge. When I get to the end, I flip the quilt around and start over.
