Starting something new.

I’m finally finding time to get back in to the sewing room regularly again and I’m getting started on a commission. Some lovely yellows, tans and taupes were requested I’m adding a little blue too! I like occasionally working with other people’s color choices because you realize you like color combos that you don’t instinctively think to put together. Yellow and blue I work with constantly, but not the tans and taupes. Fun to stretch a little!

I pulled some fabrics….

…chopped up a ton of strips and started sewing them together!

We’ll see where this goes from here… just getting started!

Sew, Mama, Sew! Block of the Month and more!

After a quiet week I’m back with a couple of things to mention…

My Modern Block of the Month kicks off today over at Sew, Mama, Sew! I’ll be doing a new block design and tutorial each month for the next year. Check out July’s block!

Also, I’m going to be on Pat Sloan’s radio show later today at 1:00pm PST, 4:00pm EST. We’re chatting about The Modern Quilt Guild and Block Party! Please do listen if you can!

Finally, I also did a minor blog revamp over the weekend. Click on through if you read me in a reader and you wanna check it out.

Last stop!

Ok everyone – here it is! The final stop on the Block Party blog tour.

Craftzine has posted a great post that includes a peek at an entire chapter of the book! You can check it out here.

And that wraps up the tour! Bet you’re all pretty happy I’ll stop posting about it now, huh?

Second to last day on the blog tour…

Head on over to Anna Maria Horner’s beautiful blog for the next stop on the Block Party blog tour! She’s written up such a wonderful post and she has sewn up a block from the book for the tour. Even better, she’s also put her own spin on the block – exactly what we hope Block Party will inspire others to do as well!
