Pink.
You know what’s fun about Valentine’s sewing? Being able to completely indulge in the girly pink of it all!
A mini quilt I made for last night’s LA Modern Quilt Guild meeting. We had a Valentine Swap and it was a blast!
I had fun using one of my (almost never used) decorative stitches on this…
Otherwise, my post answering the question “What does modern quilting mean to me?” is up over on the guild’s blog. Go check it out and maybe you’d like to chime in on the conversation too?

Alissa, I love this mini quilt. Adorable and very girly pink as you said. Those heart stitches are perfect. How fun to do a Valentine swap for your meeting. Going to head over and read your “what does…..mean to me?”
Alissa, I love this! I had just been designing something similar to make for my 4 grandkids for heart day…a mini-mini quilt, with ribbon to hang it. Now I see this, so I know I’m on the right track. I don’t have to imagine how cute they would be…you have done one…too dang cute! Love your decorative stitching.
So much to love about this — the pieced heart, the lovely (not cloyingly so) pink/red shades, the dark gray, the decorative stitches. Modern and sophisticated.
I absolutely detest anything pink and heart-y, but……for some reason I really, really, REALLY love this!! So flippin cute!! Nicely done Alissa
great job!
So cute!
So pretty! I love the little hearts along the quilting.
I have those same hearts on my machine… what a great idea! It’s very cute.
Those hearts are SO cute – what a great idea…and I love the patchwork heart – fun!
My favorite part, aside from the awesome pink/gray color combination, are the little decorative-stitched hearts.
wow, alissa, it’s so nice to see it close-up! beautiful work!
As the lucky swapper who received Alissa’s lovely piece, I want to assure you all it’s found a very good home where it will delight everyone who sees it. Thank you, Alissa…I love it!
