I wrote up a simple quilted pillow tutorial for Janome recently.
And now – the winner of Modern Log Cabin Quilting! Random number generator gave me number 19 out of 223 comments! So that’s Alice R. who says: “I love the tweaking of the traditional log cabin. What a beautiful book – I have book lust big time!” Congrats Alice – keep any eye out for an email from me!
And one last thing, Cate, my twin sister has her house in Apartment Therapy’s Small Cool contest and it would be so great of you if you could click on over and “favorite” her place. You have to sign in or create an account but 1) I figure a lot of you already have an Apartment Therapy sign in name and 2) if you don’t it just takes a second to create one! Thank you!! I’m pulling for her and her place is seriously so cute.

Very cute pillow. I love the tight band of quilting across the top. Also — I have a twin sister too!
I can’t believe it’s me!!!!! Thank you! I was just opening this up thinking ” I have to send that pillow post to my daughter – she’ll love it!” when I saw your note. It’s a lovely surprise after a bit of tough family times lately. Thanks for bringing some sunshine.
Hi there. I would be interested in this tutorial as I also have a Janome but I can’t open the link.
Hi Judith – sorry about that – there was a typo in the link but it’s all set now!
Great pillow tutorial – I see lots of fun potential there! Very inspiring!
What a beautiful pillow! i love the colors you chose!
Oh I really like the geometric patterns on this – the quilting and piecing. Thanks for sharing!
Love the pillow! It’s really lovely. You have such a way with subtle fabrics.
I really really love this!
Love the pillow! Those stitches are indeed very pretty. And your sisters place is so cute, I think I recognize an Alissa-made quilt in there.
