Scrap mania!

I’m taking my time and being very thorough with the sewing room set up.  Yesterday that meant a major scrap sort!

Pre Sort-

And post sort!

Post Sort

I’m not great about using my little scraps but maybe if they are sorted by color I will? In any case, I have more than I’ll ever use and should give some to you. Comment with your two favorite colors and I’ll pick a couple of winners on Monday.  A scrap pack will then be on it’s way to you!  Good luck and happy weekend to you all!

Love green and brown! I’m impressed.

Great work! I long for the day when I have enough scraps to be able to sort them. oh, the fun that could be had. Your purple stash caught my eye, which I think would be fun with some browns.

I love reds and oranges, but I use a ton of browns and greens in my quilts, and I never seem to have enough of those! Nice assortment!

  4. Cindy A. July 23, 2010 at 12:13 pm #

My favorite colors are blues and greens and oranges.

  5. mab July 23, 2010 at 12:15 pm #

I guess it makes sense that my stash is most missing my favorite colors — I use them all up! Right now my faves are yellow and green. Thanks for the chance to enter!

As a fairly new quilter, I have not built up much of a scrap collection yet, but there are quite a few “scrappy” quilts I want to make! I would very much appreciate some of your scraps. My favorite colors are green and blue, but I could also really use some black/white stuff in my stash.

  7. Brittney July 23, 2010 at 12:17 pm #

I need to reorganize my scraps! Sounds like a great weekend project. My favorites are probably green and yellow right now, but I’m also a sucker for purple and pink .. it’s so hard to choose when there are so many great colors out there!

  8. Chantal July 23, 2010 at 12:18 pm #

I like the orange most, then I like the green scaps. It is sure inspiring looking at that lot!

  15. Janet July 23, 2010 at 12:53 pm #

The purple and raspberry (as well as the blue) jumped right out at me! Thanks for the eye candy; I think that I should go and organize something as well…

This makes me think I should start sorting now since I’m still new to quilting and don’t have a lot of scraps. I love the green and purple scraps.

  18. jeanettesquiltin July 23, 2010 at 1:15 pm #

I need to get in the sorting mood. I don’t have much fabric but still it’s not well organized. Orange and Greens are my favorite colors.

  19. Melanie July 23, 2010 at 1:31 pm #

What fabulous scraps you have! I love pinks and greens. Have fun setting up your sewing space!

  20. caroline July 23, 2010 at 1:32 pm #

Believe it or not I have NO purple scraps and that is a huge problem since I am working on a crazy patch, painbox quilt. I sure could use some. Thanks for the opportunity.

  21. Jennifer July 23, 2010 at 1:33 pm #

Oooh so pretty. I like the purply and the orange ones. :)

  22. Amy (badskirt) July 23, 2010 at 1:33 pm #

I’d just love to play in your scrap bins. So much fun. It must feel good to be organized! It’s always hard to pick a favourite. I’ll go with were I’m in short supply at the moment… bright rich pinks and any sorts of orange.

  23. Wendy D. P. July 23, 2010 at 1:39 pm #

Oooh so pretty – I think just having all that variety and brightness around would be inspiring! My favorites are blue and green!

  24. LizzyM July 23, 2010 at 1:39 pm #

Oooh. I’ve gotta get organized, too. Love how those scraps look sorted by color. How long did that take you? My two fave colors right now: aqua and lime.

  25. Heather July 23, 2010 at 1:42 pm #

Nice! Looks great organized! My favorite colors are blue and green.

  26. Denise July 23, 2010 at 1:53 pm #

Scraps are my favorite thing to usee! I am always purchasing scrap bags on Etsy, just to have a huge variety, so your sharing would be wonderful! I am collecting scraps in greens and purples right now.

  27. Hannah July 23, 2010 at 1:54 pm #

ooh, fun! We just moved and are in the process of sorting and organizing our whole house, and one small section (yet to be tackled) is all the fabrics and scraps in the craft room! I’d love to have more to add to the chaos, though, and my favorite colors are definitely blue and green.

  28. Bethany July 23, 2010 at 2:01 pm #

Right now I am liking blues and browns. I have fun sorting fabric! Thanks for the great blog.

  29. Cherie July 23, 2010 at 2:09 pm #

Oh, definitely green & orange!! I’ve started a grandmothers flower garden with 3/4″ pieces and these kind of scraps are PREFECT! Must feel great to be organizing. Thanks for the chance.

  30. Nykhe July 23, 2010 at 2:27 pm #

  31. Rachel July 23, 2010 at 2:38 pm #

    Purple and Blue!

  32. Ange Moore July 23, 2010 at 2:48 pm #

Wow – you are so organised! And arranging by colour seems like a very sensible thing to do. I just love other people’s scraps – no matter what colour they are.

  33. Whitney July 23, 2010 at 2:51 pm #

Okay… When I looked at the pre-sort colors I thought “how ingenious, the colors of the baskets are the color of the scraps” Now I’m confused, how did the green and blue scraps get in orange baskets? and the eggplant in yellow? Yes of course the scraps are yours and you can do what you wish with them, it may even assist in your creative process. As for me; and I am no way near this organized mind you; I would have to have the basket match the overall color of the scraps. Regardless of my opinion, good job! Way to start out in a new space on the right foot!!

  34. Alice R. July 23, 2010 at 2:53 pm #

They are lovely, and you are generous! My favorite colors are red and pink, but for quilting I’m picking pink and orange to add some spark! My fabrics are a bit dull right now…

  35. Kate July 23, 2010 at 2:56 pm #

    Green and orange :)

  36. Marcia W. July 23, 2010 at 2:56 pm #

Hmmm. Group One Greens with brown/neutrals =OR= Group Two Orangey/coral with aqua/blues. Thank you for the wonderful display of color and this giveaway. I lurk on your blog a lot, and this might be my first comment.

  37. Celine July 23, 2010 at 3:08 pm #

Love scraps over here! Lovin pinks and aqua right now (and not necessarily together!!!) Thanks a bunch

  38. Leah H July 23, 2010 at 3:12 pm #

How generous! Thanks for sharing with one of us. Blue and orange would hit the spot!

  39. Heather July 23, 2010 at 3:18 pm #

Ohhh so sweet of you to share. Green and blue are my favorites!

  40. Kristy July 23, 2010 at 3:30 pm #

I’m not usually a green person but for some reasons your basket of greens in appealing to me!

I’m also making a big move soon and hope that the new (as yet unfound) house will have room for a dedicated craft room. I have lots of ideas about how I’d love to set it up and make it organized but I’m keen for ideas as well!

  41. Laurie July 23, 2010 at 3:48 pm #

I love pink and blue! Good luck setting everything up – that’s quite a task – but so important!

  42. Erica July 23, 2010 at 3:58 pm #

I would love to win some of your scraps! I would love some aqua and pink:)

  43. traceyjay July 23, 2010 at 4:14 pm #

green and red… or red and pink… or orange and green…

(send me whatever! They’re all gorgeous!) :)

  44. Adds July 23, 2010 at 4:18 pm #

Super cute, I have all my tiny scraps colour sorted as well but in small storage tubs with lids. There kept on top of my fabric wall unit so I find I don’t use them as much as the ones I have put in a scrap tub on the floor. Might have to re-think my system. Fave colours green and orange here. Enjoy your new room!

  45. Karen July 23, 2010 at 4:56 pm #

Orange and green rule in my sewing room. Love those colors and use them often. What a treat some scraps would be!!!

  46. Kara July 23, 2010 at 4:57 pm #

So hot out, and I need to feel cool. Blue and purple… ahhhh…

  47. britt July 23, 2010 at 5:02 pm #

Hmm… my two favorite colors would have to be yellow and green. I just found out an old friend of mine is expecting a baby boy, and would love to make a scrappy quilt to celebrate his arrival!

  48. rose July 23, 2010 at 5:16 pm #

love the greens and neutrals (browns/blacks/greys/creams) (well, and i also love the blues and oranges… ok fine, i love all of them!) this is very inspiring – i’ve got overflowing clear bins filled with overflowing ziplock bags. and then when i do a new project, i have to dig through all of it to try to put anything away. this is so much smarter!

  49. Leah J July 23, 2010 at 5:17 pm #

look at how awesome you are with your organization! Thanks for sharing scraps! I would love some red & orange! :)

  50. Jamie G July 23, 2010 at 5:21 pm #

Well aren’t you cute! Green and Orange are my faves! Woo hoo!
