Scrap mania!

I’m taking my time and being very thorough with the sewing room set up.  Yesterday that meant a major scrap sort!

Presort:

Pre Sort-

And post sort!

Post Sort

I’m not great about using my little scraps but maybe if they are sorted by color I will? In any case, I have more than I’ll ever use and should give some to you. Comment with your two favorite colors and I’ll pick a couple of winners on Monday.  A scrap pack will then be on it’s way to you!  Good luck and happy weekend to you all!

I will let you pick. There isn’t a color I don’t like. How is that for easy? Tee Hee.

I just bought my sewing machine in the beginning of July…I’m currently working on a Dresden plate! My stash of fabric at this point is minimal…I am particularly drawn to greens and browns…I’m an earthy type of girl!! :)

    Hi Alissa,

It’s Kim from your quilting class at Urban Craft Center. So far, I’ve made my kiddo two quilts. Still awaiting his arrival- mid August…and two quilts for friends. Thanks for helping me!

You are so inspirational to organize my scraps and fabric. Am waiting for the cooler weather though, since it’s the top floor of the townhouse. Then in the fall, I’ll say, oh, it’s a bit chilly up there…. I am my own Goldilocks. Great idea for your giveaway. I LOVE browns and creams….colors of chocolate and a good cup of mellow joe!

What a good idea to sort scraps by colour. They look much more enticing and I’m sure will help with inspiration. My favourite colours are brown and orange!

Scraps are so addictive once you get going with them! My faves are pink & grey.

I’m currently working on my first quilt, a very scrappy string quilt made of all kinds of scavenged bits and pieces, and my workspace is covered with piles of scraps sorted by color. Even though they’re among my favorite colors, I’m low on greys/blacks and yellows right now, unfortunately!

  34. Briana July 26, 2010 at 7:00 am #

brown and green are particularly appealing to me today. Thanks for the giveaway!

  35. Summer July 26, 2010 at 8:23 am #

Once I took the plunge and sorted all my scraps and had them out where I could see them at all times, their usefulness went up by a thousand percent. I use them all the time now because I can see what I have. My favorites are green and blue, and they are what I have the most of.
