I’m knitting! A sock! A few of us were lucky enough to be taught by Lori, a friend from the LAMQG. She’s an amazing knitter (we’re talking CERTIFIED master knitter!!) with an even more amazing yarn stash.
It’s slow going on these size 2 needles but I’m enjoying knitting after putting it down for a couple of nonstop quilting years. Plus I can sit outside in the amazing summer weather and be crafty! Some times a sewing machine doesn’t cut it…not very portable! Wonder if I’ll make it to the second sock?

I learned to knit socks last year; my teacher was not as illustrious as yours – youtube and lots of froggin (rip-it).
Love that color!
Socks are so fun to knit! Perhaps you should look into the two socks at once method because very often we finish a sock and never quite get round to the second hehe
Look at that colour! You have to make 2!!
that color is amazing!
you can always learn the 2-socks-at-a-time method!! that color is gorgeous.
I love to knit as much as I love to quilt. The yarn is gorgeous! What is it?
Hooray for new knitters and multi-crafting! Your sock-in-progress looks great!
the color of the thread is gorgeous! I love to knit! I even knit on the beach in Cuba this spring!
That Wollmeise is gorgeous! Yay! It’s looking great…
That yarn is gorgeous! What is it?
Hi Esther! It’s Wollmeise. So beautiful, right?
I bought the book, two at a time socks, and finally found a circular needle long enough, but now am stuck at the heel. Maybe I should try one sock and figure out the heel, then go back to the two at a time…
It is very hot out today, so maybe that is what I will try out. Too hot for anything else…
Wow… the color is so intense, vibrant… lux. Love it.
I just finished knitting two super chunky sweaters on 10mm needles and then started a pair of socks on tiny ones – it takes a little getting used to when making “tiny” progress again. I started the one and then quickly started the second when I realized I probably wouldn’t get the second done unless I was doing them together. But it’s more enjoyable to knit on double-points. It looks really pretty – hang in there until you finish the second.
oh I love making socks..You must try the circular needles that are size two and in a small length for socks.. I love these and only use my dpn when doing the heel and when decreasing stitches for the toe.. I think they go much fast using these and they are made by sachel.
