I’m finally finding time to get back in to the sewing room regularly again and I’m getting started on a commission. Some lovely yellows, tans and taupes were requested I’m adding a little blue too! I like occasionally working with other people’s color choices because you realize you like color combos that you don’t instinctively think to put together. Yellow and blue I work with constantly, but not the tans and taupes. Fun to stretch a little!
I pulled some fabrics….
…chopped up a ton of strips and started sewing them together!
We’ll see where this goes from here… just getting started!

Those buttery colors are so beautiful and warm. Love where this is going ….
Gorgeous color combination! Do you remember the names of the fabrics you’re using? I’m always nervous about my color-combining skills, so I like to know what other people do who are good at putting colors together.
Hi Jen! Hard to say… I just pulled from my stash and it would take me a long time to put together the list of colors based on my color card. It’s a ton of Konas, a couple of the Quilter’s Linens and one of the blues is a Moda Crossweave (Blue Blue, I use it all that time). Hope that helps a little bit!
I love your color choices and your pattern. I can’t wait to see what happens next!
It reminds me of a day at the beach. So relaxing I can almost feel the sand in my toes.
I love that you can get a commission and just see where it goes!
I’ve got a similar colourway on the go right now. In love with it.
Beautiful!
I love the combo of bold color with some neutrals as well. Beautiful!
Really enjoy reading your blog also.
looks fresh and summery. Like a day at the beach!
Love the Crossweave and linens thrown in for just a hint of texture…Nice!! Myself I love print on print on print…so I really enjoy seeing what others do with solids…it has been pushing me to incorporate them in my work! Looking forward to see where you go from here!
