I have been reading my friend Liz’s blog, Lady Harvatine, for a long time. It was one of the first I found when I started quilting. Thanks to the LA Modern Quilt Guild, we now know each other and are pals. She’s having a baby very soon, so of course I had to make her a quilt!
I’m a touch stripe obsessed these days…
I quilted double zig-zags in each blue and yellow strip (I didn’t use a double needle, just did one zig-zag then echo quilted it) and added the occasional pop of monochromatic fabric.
Oh and guys, did you see? There’s totally a dog in a teacup right there.
Hope 2011 is off to a good start for you!

Loving the dog in the teacup <3
Thanks again Alissa, Harv and I both love it! I can’t wait to put a baby on that thing!
love this – love the dog in the teacup – love the zig zag quilting – it’s fab!
Awesome quilt! Love the strips and the colors and, of course, the adorable little doggie in the teacup!
i LOVE this one. i’m really drawn to baby blankets that aren’t SUPER baby. i imagine this quilt will accompany the child throughout his/her life, and will always be something really special.

Great quilt! Love the little touches. And that zig zag quilting had to have taken some planning to make sure there was room for the second zig zag points to hit where you wanted them. Beautiful job!
What a striking quilt. Lovely!
totally fab!
Love this design! What a beautiful gift!
Wow! Beautiful Quilt, I love the colors, love the design, love the quilting…love it!
“can’t wait to put a baby on that thing.”…high praise indeed

Nothing short of spectacular! A lovely thoughtful gift that will last forever!
Love those little printed details!
I’m a big fan of the little bits of print amongst the solid. Awesome!
I was lucky enough to see this quilt in person and its FABULOUS and very modern! with just enough “quirky” thrown in (dog in saucer) to be really adorable for a momma about to have a baby!
Love that little dog in teacup!!! Love, love, love!
Wow, I love this quilt! The doggy patch is the best part… a tiny hidden touch of awesome!
