The Los Angeles Modern Quilt Guild is in action!
We had our first meeting for the LAMQG last night. It was so much fun! Such a wonderful group of people who love to chat about quilting as much as I do.
20 of us at our very first meeting!
Oh the fabric shopping, block making, workshop having, and quilting quilting quilting we’re going to do! If you are in the LA area and haven’t joined us yet, I hope that you do! We have all levels of experience represented so even if you’re just getting started with quilting you are more than welcome!

Argh, I’m so sad I couldn’t make it! Hubby had to work late and I wasn’t about to unleash my 5-week-old on all of you. Have another meeting SOON!

Your previous post would be a great topic for the guild since we were talking about just creating without a pattern. It WAS a great meeting and it WILL be such a wonderful and inspiring guild. Thanks for your inspiration and leadership.
Oh, I’m so jealous I don’t live in LA. It sounds/looks like a blast! I feel so isolated in Michigan. Nobody does modern quilting around here! Congratulations on the guild! Looks like lots of friends and food and fun
I live in Ohio and would LOVE to start one here. I feel like there’s about to be a quilting revival and this is just what the quilting world needs! Please continue to share the how/what/when etc so that I can learn from you. Not sure how to get one started here.

Add Wisconsin to the list! My local guild is all grannies who make pastel blue quilts. They are so sweet and I do love them but I am so jealous of the LA girls! Wish I was with you rock stars!
