That was then…
…and this is now!
The LA Modern Quilt Guild’s first meeting and our 1st anniversary meeting! We are going strong. This past meeting was such a ball and there was just such a sense of community, excitement and fun in the air. Always takes me forever to fall asleep after meetings this great – they are just so inspiring and energizing!
That great swap I mentioned in my last post? Check out what I got from Leah!
The cutest freakin’ owl ever!! I love him and have named him Horace.

Horace is adorable! Is he a pincushion? I love his little wings.
You started something amazing, that’s for sure! Horace is a honey of a hoot.
That owl is adorable!!
The Owl is made from a “Melly and Me” pattern, called Hooty and Tweet, I would recognize him anywhere (Melly is a friend of mine).

I came across your lovely blog.
I like your way of arranging and quilting very much and will follow it
You are very lucky, to have such a great comunity of modern quilters,
In Germany, unfortunately, they seem to be widely spreaded.
So thanks to the www. !
A happy week- end and regards from Germany,

Wow! That’s amazing. I can’t wait for when I move in a couple years. I’m hoping that it’ll end up close to a MQG.
AAAAA- That is amazing! What a great group….maybe I should move down south!
I have that exact same feeling of not being able to sleep because my head is so full of great ideas! Sometimes I wish we had meetings in the morning so I could have that feeling all day!
Congratulations! I am a member of the Vancouver Modern Quilt Guild and I love it! We are just getting started, but it’s a great group of people! I can never sleep after meetings either – too much excitement and inspiration …
That is awesome! We’re growing in Cincinnati, but not quite at that speed. Keep up the great work, and the inspiration!
I wish we had taken a group photo at our first meeting! It’s great to see how much the LA group has grown… and I know you will continue to grow! …and I love the owl!!
