I got another bit of the Traveling Quilts done this weekend. Faith’s calling her quilt “Constellations” so people have been making star blocks for her. I’m not so into the traditional star look, so this was definitely a challenge for me.
Improv. piecing a star with a couple of Y seams? Not so easy for me! Needless to say, the seam ripper was used a lot on this one!
I added more negative space to make it more asymmetrical as the star itself turned out a bit less wonky than I was shooting for.
Here it is with all of the other blocks people have made. Hope mine can find a little spot of its own in the finished quilt!

Love the 5-pointed star! It’s very different, indeed!
Your star is really cute! It’s really going to be a fun quilt!
That is so wonderful – all those stars together!
Great star, and just love the different stars…each with it’s own personality . Would like to know if the style of star matches it’s creator
Oh! Love that star. How creative.
I love seeing quilt blocks like that. So pretty, so nice and original and beautifully designs. Gush. Love it.
