I got this one all finished up and washed!
Meandering free motion quilting + a quick wash and dry = crinkly goodness!!
It came out much better than I had initially anticipated so I’m really happy about that. It’s the Denyse Schmidt pattern but I made fewer blocks that measured 15″ square, so it now measures about 45″ x 60″.
What fun it is to make blocks without really worrying about perfectly measuring and cutting. As long as they were vaguely the right size, and there was variety among them, they were “right”! Then framed them all in white and I was done with the top! Quick and easy and FUN!

I love yuor quilt!!

This will make one happy baby. Love all that free-motion, crinkly goodness!
so cute! i need to get quilting, kind of wish I had more time.
I need to finish the derned binding so that I can toss mine into the wash… (I am actually working on the binding on several quilts.)
Its already quilted!! WOW- Its beautiful. ~jen~
Love it! I get so OCD on making the blocks all perfect.. I think I should try this one because it’s so cute!
That’s a lovely quilt! Could you please explain what you mean — the coloured blocks are not all the same size, but when do you add the white? To what? And what size? It all looks so nicely done, but I can’t quite figure it out. Thank you!
Well done! And boy you are fast!
Hi! I have just been looking at all the quilts you have made and they are just beautiful! I really like how you do the freemotion quilting, I would like to try that soon. I’m sure all the families love the quilts you have made them, it’s such a special gift.
ooooh am I glad i found your blog…fabulous quilts! i love this one. i’m a denyse schmidt fan too…she pretty much changed the way i make quilts…improvisation is for me!
I love the colors!!! the improvisational piecing is fun, isn’t it?
Your quilt is beautiful!
Beautiful as usual. I love all of your quilts. And as Artisania said, “boy are you fast”.
Hi Alissa, can you please explain how you wash and dry your quilts? Thanks Lx
would you mind sharing your exact directions for your quilt? i love it! especially the backing!
Hi Terri,
Sorry, I made this quilt so long ago… but like it says in the post, it’s 45″ x 60″ so a bit of math would sort out each finished block size. Just have the last round on your block be the background fabric. Easy!
I just found out the quilt you made for Fay is also on your blog, so nice! we still use it alot. Both girls enjoy their quilts still everyday and in our new house, Fay will use hers as a bed throw (is that the right word).
do you still have the online shop?
love Pegs
