I’m not one of those people who finds amazing things all the time at flea markets and antique shops. I’m just not. So I couldn’t believe my luck in finding this sewing box on the side of the road! A pair of the legs were broken off and it was dirty and dull.
I knew that it had great potential, so a bit of work…
…and I had this!
The new amazing Amy Butler wrapping paper and some great Anthropologie knobs are the details that makes the whole thing just so pretty!
And now it’s already filled up with all of my sewing things and getting lots of use! I love it!

What a great find! And you’ve turned it into such a beautiful treasure. I love doing things like that as well.
That is just amazing! I can’t believe you found it on the side of the road.
good work! I love side-of-the-road finds. Those original hinges were so cute, were they broken?
Thanks so much! Actually, they weren’t hinges. They were just decorative and nailed to the lid of the box. After refinishing I felt like they didn’t match the look of the box anymore… it was all fresh and new and they were lookin’ dingy and old. Even after much cleaning – so I choose to leave them off.
i love it! i immediately went searching for my own on ebay.
I never find anything by the road, but I have a similar sewing box from my grandmother. It is in the original shape, dark brown. You did a great job with cleaning yours!
WOW!!!!
now that is skill!
